Blood Donation Events

Palmetto Citizens has teamed up with The Blood Connection to host a series of blood drives.

Volunteer blood donors are critical in serving the needs of our local hospitals and saving the lives of our neighbors. To help encourge whole blood donations within our community, Palmetto Citizens will be hosting blood drives with The Blood Connection at some of our office locations.

Click on the link below to register and select your time to donate. All donors will also receive a $20 gift card and be screened for COVID-19 antibodies.

The event above is the only one scheduled at our locations at this time. As additional events are added, we will include them here so please check back for the most recent information, or search The Blood Connection's full schedule.

The Importance of Blood Donations

The need for blood never goes away, especially during a pandemic. Someone in the U.S. needs blood every two seconds, and one in ten patients who show up to a hospital will need blood. Over 600 people need to donate every day to meet the daily needs of hospitals.

Blood is only good for 42 days and it can’t be replicated or produced. It is because of volunteer blood donors that blood is there for local patients in need of transfusions. That’s neighbors helping neighbors in the best way. The reason to donate is simple…it saves lives.
